Auditions

Auditions for the summer course are held in December and Spring before the course.  The Easter course is by teacher assessment; no audition  required.

Audition Venues  & Dates

December  2008 (main auditions)  closing date 31^st  October 2008

·             London – Saturday 13^th and Monday 15^th December

·             Birmingham – Saturday 13^th December

·             Manchester – Sunday 14^th December

·             Bristol – Sunday 14^th December

Spring 2009 (late auditions) applications will be accepted until 31^st March 2009

·            Edinburgh – w/c 6^th April

·            Easter course

·            Other venues dependant on demand

Audition Requirements

·         2 contrasting pieces of your own choice, to be played unaccompanied, one on treble, one on any recorder (this can be treble again)

·         Sight-reading test

·         Set study (posted to you 1 month before the auditions) written especially for each round of auditions.  NYRO study is on treble, NYTRO on descant.

·                   To be eligible for NYRO, you must also now play a set study (posted to you 1 month before the auditions) on Bass recorder. Bass recorders will be available to borrow at the audition venue.

A warm-up room will be available.

Fees

·         A non-refundable fee of £40 is due with the audition form.  This is deducted from the course fee if you are successful.
